About Me:
The Legend goes "He was dropped out of a spaceship into the wild and raised by wolves until school age. Adopted then by lumberjacks and forced to cut down trees. He ran away to Hollywood but didn't like it and ended up living in San Francisco in an apartment with two orangutans named Steve."
But in real life Ben Farber was born and raised in the peninsula of San Francisco. He was an All-Star Little League Baseball player who's skills on the field turned into skills on stage. "I owe my juggling ability to my father who played catch with me daily when I was a young child. He trained me to play baseball very well, hitting me grounders, fly balls, pitching to me for batting practice and also letting me practice pitching while he played catcher." All of this hand-eye coordination training led Ben to learning how to juggle without serious difficulty "I was also fortunate enough to encounter juggling at school which is where I first learned how to juggle 3 balls when i was 9 years old.
By the age of 11, my father began taking me to San Francisco to learn how to juggle at the Circus School where I learned from the street performers around the city. Dan Chan the Magic Man taught me how to juggle flaming torches at the age of 12, which made my mom mad. My father got tired of me asking him for money so he took me to fisherman's wharf and let me street perform. Being 12 did most of the work, all I had to say was 'I'm too young to get a real job.' And
'I'm only juggling because my parents don't give me an allowance.'
That was the beginning of my career. "
